St Sidwell's Point - Accessibility Information
St Sidwell’s Point was designed with accessibility in mind.
Each of the swimming pool changing rooms feature an accessible changing area.
There is a dedicated ‘changing places’ room featuring a ceiling hoist, changing bed, shower facilities and toilet.
Changing Places toilets give severely disabled people and their families the opportunity to visit public places which they otherwise would not be able to, and can therefore make a huge difference to their quality of life. It is estimated that at least 250,000 people in the UK need Changing Places toilets in order to have their toileting needs met in a safe, dignified and humane way. The facility at SSP extends this, providing showering and changing.
Accessible toilets are located on every level at SSP.
There are easily locatable lift facilities for access at SSP.
There is a dedicated lifting platform installed in both pools at SSP which functions similarly to the Poolpod system at Riverside. In addition there are steps and handrail access to both pools.
There is accessible gym equipment.
Portable Induction Loops are available at each reception and catering point.
A room mate box is installed in the entrance level toilets. This provides audio description of toilet layout for visually impaired users. The RoomMate® delivers audio description to Blind & Visually Impaired. (easyaccessibility.co.uk)
The building has been designed to be accessible for all, with a lower reception desk, wide entrances, easy-access lifts, and well-spaced equipment. If you feel there is anything else we can do to make St Sidwell’s Point more accessible, please do get in touch and let us know.
